The Kellergasse in Purbach am Neusiedler See is a historic wine cellar lane with approximately 50 cellars, built around 1850 at the foot of the Leitha Mountains. Today, it is a popular destination for wine lovers and connoisseurs who want to sample regional specialties and wines.

The southern end of the Danube Island is rather quiet and ideal for a few brisk kilometres. The entrance to the oil port is also there, and sometimes you can see a push boat maneuvering.

A compact and very, very nice museum with the finds from the Carnuntum excavations in Bad Deutsch-Altenburg and Petronell - be sure to book a cultural education / guided tour - we had a really nice encounter with the history of the Romans in Carnuntum with many stories told.
