Constantina is a Spanish municipality in the province of Seville, Andalusia. It is known that this bridge was ordered to be built by the Infante Ferdinand in 1410 due to his presence in these lands and the always necessary improvement of the Córdoba – Seville route on the right bank of the Guadalquivir. The works were almost completed in 1428 but stopped, a situation that continued for many years, apparently until a century later. It was a large bridge made of limestone ashlars.
