Muro is located a little inland in the agricultural region of 'Plà de Mallorca'. The picturesque village with its sandstone buildings and old church is a typical example of traditional Mallorca.

The unfinished church could not be completed due to a lack of funds. Today, there is a sports field inside the Església Nova (New Church). Bizarre, but nice to look at. Concerts, plays and other events take place in the "church without a roof". In my opinion, this is a typical example of how necessity is turned into a virtue on Mallorca. I find the way the unfinished church is being dealt with to be very pragmatic.
