The VV Alcoi (EV8) is supposed to exit here onto a roundabout, however there is now Armco installed all around the roundabout! (The VV “Stop” sign is still there to warn before you would have ridden onto the roundabout.) A 100M back down the VV there is a track leading to the Av. V Centenario before the Armco starts. I didn’t bother as this is a busy road as are the two roundabouts you have to traverse before rejoining the VV proper.

Hasta Ibi, gentle track route. the climb to Els Barzerets is demanding 8 km. technical descent to the Carrasqueta. magnificent views

Cyclable with a gravel bike, although there is a time when, due to the slope and the stones, you still have to put your foot on the ground. With care you can enjoy this short gravel road that connects the Canalís road with the pleasant Penyes Roges.

It is a charming town nestled between mountains, where you can still appreciate the traditional architecture of the area. It is definitely worth walking through its alleys, if you happen to be near here.

It is a port without great demands (maximum slope of 10%) that will allow us to enjoy the landscape of pine and holm oak trees and the wide views of the coast that open up at the top. We start in Alcoi, at the Fernando Reig bridge over the Barxell river taking the N-340 in the direction of Xixona. It is a long straight uphill stretch with a service road on the right that we can take for a kilometer (until the intersection with the CV-797, Font Roja road) to avoid traffic as much as possible.

The port of La Carrasqueta is a mountain peak located 1020 meters high. Much frequented by cyclists, from above it offers beautiful views of the Alicante mountains.
