The Ormaiztegi Viaduct (inaugurated on August 15, 1864) is the town's most emblematic symbol. Designed by engineer Alexander Lavalley, a predecessor of Gustave Eiffel, it stands in a beautiful landscape overlooking the Eztanda River. It is the most important structure on the Madrid-Paris railway line, spanning 289 meters in length and 34 meters in height. Its 18,000 tons are supported by four pillars. The double track was installed in 1912 and electrified in 1928. It is currently disused and forms part of the Basque Country's cultural heritage.

The legendary starting point of the Zegama-Aizkorri mountain marathon – wonderful area!

From the port of Mandubia, located 532 meters high, there are magnificent views of the Arriarán reservoir surrounded by green mountains. There is a restaurant right next door.

The lords of Igartza built this service center in the 16th century and increased their wealth. This magnificently preserved monumental complex, in addition to the palace-house of the lords, has: a hermitage, a mill, a forge, an apple press, a dovecote, the shoemaker's house and the blacksmith's house, among others. The visit is worth it.

Zegama is a municipality in the Goyerri region, in the province of Guipúzcoa, Basque Country. It is located at the foot of the Aitzgorri mountain range, in the upper basin of the Oria River, in the middle of a historic pass that linked the Iberian Peninsula with continental Europe. The Zegama - Aizkorri mountain marathon is held in Zegama, which has a medium distance course and also a special test, the vertical kilometer. All of these routes pass through the mountains near Zegama, with the hermitage of Sancti Spiritu, with its 180 meters of steep slope, being one of the mythical points of the marathon and the vertical kilometer.

The top of Lizarrusti has a large parking area, with a fountain, children's playground, tables with benches, many information panels about Aralar, the park, the megaliths, short and long routes... There is also the Aralar parketxe with more information and a restaurant with bar and hostel.

This mountain pass is located right on the border between the Basque Country and Navarra. From here you can make many excursions to the Aralar Natural Park.

Pleasant loop in the Basque reliefs although with a little too many wide paths (4x4) for my taste.
