Fiñana is a perfect base for hikers between the Sierra Nevada and Los Filabres, with easy access via the A-92 and the train station. In the upper town, you can walk along the Moorish route to the Alcazaba and the cistern, and visit the unique Almohad mosque converted into the Hermitage of Our Father Jesus of Nazareth, as well as the Church of the Annunciation. From the village, trails depart to the northern slopes of the Sierra Nevada and the Nacimiento River valley, with waterfalls and sweeping views. In summer, bring water and a hat; the steep slopes and streets require well-soled shoes.

This is a free camping area called El Espino in Sierra Nevada Almeriense.

In Abla there is a historical walking tour that passes all the sights and is well marked. We liked Abla better than the “magic village” of Abrucena.

Abrucena is one of the Pueblos Magicos in Spain. The village didn't seem particularly magical to us. After a short tour we continued to Abla.

This town, belonging to the Los Filabres-Tabernas region, is part of the province of Almería, although it is very close to Granada. It is located on the northern slopes of the Sierra Nevada.

Stop advertising the remote places, these people have taken a photo of me without permission and put it on the map, totally without authorization. Let's keep the mountains without tourists and weekenders. It is from the little that we have left... no more reviews or photos in the mountains.

This refuge has a spectacular location with unforgettable views. It has some bunks to put the sleeping bag and mat and it has a fireplace.

Abla is located at the foot of the Sierra de Baza and is one of those wonderful Andalusian towns perched on a hill with its winding streets and whitewashed houses.
