Valeria is a Roman city located in the province of Cuenca (Castilla-La Mancha), in the municipality of Las Valeras, on the gorge of the Gritos River. It is one of the most important archaeological sites on the Meseta Central plateau and preserves a very complete Roman forum, as well as other urban elements characteristic of Roman Hispania.

To the south of the town of Valeria and thanks to a street that takes you to the car park, from this point you can see from afar what used to be a Romanesque town and that currently only its ruins can be seen. Since the old town is located on top of a hill, the views are very beautiful.

Joining the towns of Valeria and Valera de Abajo, this marvelous path runs along the gorge of the Gritos river through a dreamlike landscape. With a total length of about 7 km, you can choose to start at either end and cover the distance that you most want, without a doubt the complete route is the most picturesque.
