Brøndbyskoven is a popular recreational area near Brøndbyøster, which has developed since 1952 from a mix of deciduous and coniferous trees. The area consists of diverse woodland landscapes with a rich variety of animal and birdlife, which is supported through targeted management. For walks or bike rides, the forest offers a green oasis on the otherwise flat Vestegnen plain and its design is reminiscent of the diverse landscapes of North Zealand.

The beach café in Brøndby is located directly on the beach and offers a cozy, family-friendly atmosphere year-round, serving breakfast, lunch, and cakes. A playground is available for families, and parking is free.

Nice walk along the beach, harbor and meadows

The entire area around Ishøj Harbour and Hand Køge Bay Beach Park was created between 1977 and 1980 by pumping approximately five million cubic meters of sand here. The result was a seven-kilometer-long beach and a five-square-kilometer recreational area with woods, lakes, and trails. Four marinas were built, providing space for around 3,500 boats. At the same time, the project served as coastal protection, as the newly created islands reduced the risk of flooding for the mainland. The artificial origins of the area are no longer apparent. However, some historical photos can be viewed via the link. Ishøj Strand is now a popular recreational area for residents of the capital and suburbs. Lifeguards are on duty in the designated area.
