From this point on the royal road there are wonderful views of Montserrat that break the flat landscape of the cereal fields.

This small nucleus belonging to the municipality of Avinyonet del Penedès is mainly known for housing an old Benedictine monastery. It is a complex made up of a church with a single nave, with a chapel, bell tower and a cloister of great sculptural value. Another outstanding construction is Cal Bou, a building from 1893 with a quadrangular plan with colorful glazed ceramic decorations and molding cornices that separate the floors.

Hermitage of Sant Joan Salerm

This hermitage is surrounded by a spectacular environment where the incredible rock formations of the Montserrat natural park stand out. It has picnic areas and a beautiful viewpoint from which you can see the mountains.

This paved road joins the N-340 as it passes through Avinyó Nou and the road to Sant Sadurní d'Anoia. It is very quiet, without traffic, and in the direction of Sant Sadurní you can enjoy the views of the plain of Penedès and Montserrat.

Romanesque monastery founded in 1030 in the old pre-Romanesque chapel of Els Gorgs, to which a bell tower was added during its reform. Between 1981 and 1977 the cloister was restored, recovering its original appearance, and in a second phase, between 2000 and 2002, the bell tower was restored. A third restoration between 2010 and 2011 protected the cloister with a new cover.

The church of Sant Joan Salerm is Romanesque in style (10th century), with a bell tower added in the 18th century. As a curiosity, the etymology of "salerm" refers to "uncultivated land", since at the time of its construction, long before vineyards began to be cultivated in the Penedès, this place was a forest.
