Puñoenrostro Castle is an impressive medieval fortress located in Seseña (Toledo), although it is also associated with Torrejón de Velasco (Madrid) due to its proximity and recent restoration projects. Built in the 14th century, it was granted by Henry IV to Diego Arias de Ávila, his accountant and secretary. His descendants were named Counts of Puñoenrostro under Charles I. In 1862, the castle was sold along with its pastureland.

The hermitage of Santiago Apóstol, the church of Nuestra Señora de la Natividad and the palace of the Counts of Cedillo stand out.

A curiosity of this town is that its origin is not known with certainty. It is known that pre-Roman tribes already inhabited it and then it passed through Roman, Arab hands and, after the conquest of Toledo by Alfonso VI in 1086, Mozarabs and finally Christians.

Due to its proximity to Madrid (which is at the same distance as Toledo), Illescas is one of the fastest growing municipalities in the province of Toledo. Even so, its historic center with its narrow streets remains a quiet place to sneak away and enjoy the Puerta de Ugena de Alfonso VI, the church of the Asunción from the 13th century, and the Hospital de Nuestra Señora de La Caridad with five paintings of El Greek.

A nice park with many different ducks. It is very neat and clean and there are fountains in case you need to refill the can.
