In this place there once stood a main attraction of Drottningholms English park. Gustav III’s Italian inspired labyrinth built in 1783-84. The hedges have since deteriorated and were replaced with flower beds. You can either take your time and enjoy the full trip or take a shortcut from the beginning straight to the center. Here you will be greeted by a statue of Ares. The full trip is ~2,5km long and takes approximately 30min. About halve-way through it will seem as if you were spat out at the beginning but don’t worry the outer flowerbeds are simply missing. Take a right turn, stay on the mossy path within the younger trees and just continue. You will be lead back into the labyrinth about a quarter circumference later.

The Palace Park The extensive park surrounding the palace is divided into different areas. The Baroque garden, laid out in the French style, impresses with its symmetrical patterns and carefully trimmed hedges. The English Garden, on the other hand, is more openly designed and invites exploration with its picturesque paths and hidden statues.
