The term Quintanar comes from Latin and means, in general terms, farm or country house. Quintanar de la Sierra is a rural enclave between the Sierra de Neila. The forest mass that surrounds it has been the main economic activity of the place for centuries. Timber exploitation and its transformation through the town's sawmills. Its rich pastures have also favored livestock, although its population has been reduced by the rural exodus. Today its main resource is the landscape and outdoor activities.

Narrow section of regional road through the Neila river ravine. The landscape throughout the journey is impressive, when cycling without traffic you can hear the sound of running water. In the sections through the gorge you can see the vultures flying over the rock outcroppings and in the upper area the landscape of the Sierra de la Demanda opens up.

There is a platform as a swimming pool, with springboards and slides and a couple of surfboards to be able to use as long as you leave everything as you found it to cool off, the water is very good in summer and the site is very quiet and very well maintained . Highly recommended
