Capileira is a wonderful destination to visit! This charming village is located in the Alpujarra Granadina, in the foothills of Sierra Nevada, and offers a unique blend of natural beauty and cultural heritage.

Ferreirola, located in the Alpujarra Granadina, is a charming Spanish town that is part of the municipality of La Taha. The origins of Ferreirola date back to Roman times, and its importance during the Arab occupation is supported by numerous archaeological remains. The name “Ferreirola” means “small iron mine” and is a diminutive of “Ferreira”. Historically, Ferreirola was the head of the municipality, with an annex called Atalbéitar located about 500 meters away.

This is a series of loops that leave a village, cross the river at another village and return to the start village. The length depends on you. We changed our minds and everything worked fine.

If you want to access the viewpoint, you just have to walk along a paved road that takes you there in a gentle climb. The views from above are spectacular: you can see the high mountains of Sierra Nevada, as well as the entire Poqueira ravine and its three famous towns: Pampaneira, Bubión and Capileira.

The small town of Capileira, in addition to being beautiful, is surrounded by trails to walk through to enjoy nature. Its architecture is typical of La Alpujarra: narrow, steep streets, flanked by houses with their traditional chimneys and "terraos" (the typical roofs of the region).

Although it is somewhat larger than neighboring Mecinilla and Fondales, Mecina is still a small village perfect for those seeking tranquility. The town hides several trails that take you to visit the rest of the towns in the La Taha region.
