The Church of Our Lady of the Assumption in Rueda (Valladolid) is a prominent 18th-century Baroque church that, together with its Renaissance tower, shines in the heart of the town. It was designed by the architect Manuel Serrano and built in the mid-18th century; the main portal and altarpiece are attributed to Pedro de Sierra. The five-tiered tower dates from the earlier Renaissance construction and was preserved in the new structure. Declared a Site of Cultural Interest (monument) on October 17, 2013.

Built in the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries, the church represents one of the most outstanding examples of 15th century architecture in the province of Valladolid. Its prominent tower, known locally as the “Giralda de Castilla”, dominates the urban area of Matapozuelos. The church is located on a promontory within the town center and has witnessed the life and faith of the local community over the centuries. Crossing the Adaja River near the Valdestillas Train Station, the old Roman bridge is dwarfed by the modern train viaduct. There is a very nice river beach for swimming nearby if you want to rest and cool off.

This is a nice little section of the Ruta del Duero with nice views of the river and not too many people.

On the plain between the Duero and Cega rivers is the town of Matapozuelos. The tall spire of the local church of Santa Maria Magdalena can be seen for miles around.

Located in the heart of the wine country, the small town of Rueda is an ideal place to explore Bodegas. The most notable monument is the Parish of the Assumption of Our Lady presided over by a very decorative façade.

Bridge without great architectural interest next to the Colagón recreational area where we find small "coves" to go down to the river to take a dip on a hot summer day.
