The nature reserves of Northern Karlevi Alvar and Southern Karlevi Alvar are part of the vast Great Alvar. The plants and animals found here live a hard life. They are forced to endure grazing, sun, wind, rain and frost.

Castle from the Iron Age, faithfully rebuilt, worth a visit.

Under the hill are traces of the St. John's Chapel, built by traders in the 13th century. This is where families from a medieval fishing village gathered for worship. After the Reformation in the 16th century, the chapel fell into disrepair. In the 1780s, the remains of the chapel were used in the construction of the Lange Jan lighthouse.

The weather vane says 1791, but that doesn't mean that the mill is actually that old. The mill is a so-called customs mill, which means that all farmers were welcome to have their flour milled there for a fee. A skilled miller and many millers' apprentices worked here. The mill was in operation until the mid-1950s. In the last 20 years it was even powered by a motor. It was renovated in 1993 and has been completely intact since then.
