From Calatayud through the Jalon Gorge is highly recommended: good asphalt, hardly any traffic, the valley with its orchards looks like an oasis in the middle of bare, rocky mountains, something you would normally only find in southern Spain

A forest trail in good condition, although with rockier sections, runs along the upper reaches of the Aljairén mountain range. It's steep and winding, with some uphill sections being truly challenging and demanding.

The Capurnos Bridge was built in the 17th century in order to join the towns of Morata de Jalón and Chodes by crossing the waters of the Jalón River.

The route runs along the dividing crest of the Sierra de Algairén, with extraordinary views of both slopes, on the northeast slope you can see the valley of the Alpartir river and on the southwest the valley of the Grío river, to reach this section it requires a lot of physicality or, failing that, an ebike with enough autonomy, although it is a forest track, during the course of the section we will find some slope that will require some technique to overcome it, or failing that we will be forced to get off the bike if we do not we want to have a fall. As an option we can take a detour to the Falaguera forest hut, where the 360 degree view will brighten our day; from the antennas of Valdemadera there is also a good viewpoint

As its name indicates, the constant descents with a steep slope make us think that we jumped down several slides, the track is paved so it helps to increase the speed of descent, in any case, we have to be aware that it is a narrow road open to the road traffic, so there is a risk of finding motor vehicles in the opposite direction and we must take the necessary precautions to avoid causing accidents

From this point we have a beautiful picture of the imposing Castle of Mesones de Isuela controlling the town from the top of the rocky hill. Guided tours inside the castle can be booked at the tourist office of the Aranda region

We are in Plaza España in the town of Morata de Jalón, a wonderful historical place that is undoubtedly worth a walk. We will see the imposing church of Santa Ana and the Renaissance-Baroque palace (now town hall).
