Pico de los Almeces, at 1,123 meters, is the highest point in the Sierra de Ricote mountain range. Reaching it is a challenge for hiking enthusiasts, but the reward is well worth it: breathtaking panoramic views, unspoiled nature, and a unique sense of accomplishment. The circular route is approximately 17 km long, with an elevation gain of 770 meters. It begins on the outskirts of the town of Ricote and winds through stunning natural landscapes, passing through pine forests, rosemary bushes, and trails that meander through the mountains.

This is a flat, easy trail with great views of the river and surrounding mountains. Perfect for a quick getaway out of the city.

Make sure you have enough water and leave the tough climb on time

There are four pretty waterwheels that continue to raise water and irrigate the surrounding orchards. The trail begins in the Parque de las Norias and goes through orchards and riverside forest.

"El Menjú" is an old and abandoned farm, with a botanical garden included, located next to an old hydroelectric power station, also in disuse. It is an area of high ecological value, with more than 200 plant and animal species in the environment.

The Virgen del Buen Suceso is the patron saint of Cieza and in 1962 they built a small hermitage in her honor in the upper part of the Watchtower. There is a viewpoint with a cross and the views from here are spectacular. In September they take the Virgin to the Church of the Assumption and a week later they take her back to her hermitage.
