This path goes up the bank of the Cáñoles River up a steep climb. It is a clear example of the rugged orography of this area. If you need to avoid steep slopes, you can detour along the road. It's more boring, but less demanding.

It is a very quiet road that crosses the mountain and connects the towns of Fontanars dels Alforins and Benejama. About three years ago a forest fire broke out that destroyed the vegetation on the south face. Today, you can still see the remains of the tragedy.

The Clariano river rises here in the Sierra de l'Ombria and the natural pools have created a unique landscape. The geology of the area has created these round bodies of water over time and each has its own name. They are called Pou dels Esclaus, Pou Clar, Pou Gelat, Pou de la Reixa, Pou Fosc and Pou dels Cavalls.
