아름답고 오래된 산악 마을로, 매우 잘 보존된 건물들이 있으며 그중 다수는 예쁘게 장식되어 있습니다. 하지만 많은 레스토랑과 공예품 가게들로 인해 마을은 관광객 중심적이며, 어쩌면 조금 지나친 감도 있습니다.

여기는 에브로 강의 "공식" 발원지입니다. 약 40년 전에 파라쿠엘레스에서 스며들어 나중에 종종 마르는 히하르 강의 물이 이곳에서 다시 나온다는 것이 증명되었지만 말입니다. 엄밀히 말하면 이곳은 카르스트 샘입니다. 샘에서 멀지 않은 곳에 작은 보가 있어 에브로 강을 막아 아름다운 작은 연못을 형성하며, 이는 분명 오리들에게도 인기 있는 장소입니다. 샘에서 보까지 연못 주변의 순환로는 불과 몇백 미터 길이의 산책로이며, 바로 위에는 넓은 방문객 주차장이 있어 방문을 위해 긴 하이킹을 할 필요는 없습니다. 물론 여기서 GR99를 시작하여 지중해까지 걸어갈 수도 있습니다...

Officially, it's the source of the Ebro River, in Fontibre. However, according to what we were told at the tourist office, the waters of the spring pools come underground from the Hijar River, which rises in Alto Campoo. Specifically, in Tresmares, where the Hijar-Ebro begins, flowing into the Mediterranean; the Pisuerga (a tributary of the Duero) flows into the Atlantic; and the Nansa flows into the Cantabrian Sea.

Interesting to visit, if you are in the area.

As always when I go to this town, I doubt if the best thing is the town... or the food, both extraordinary.

Nestled in the beautiful Monte Hijedo, the Cabin is a mansion with typical architecture of the region, built at the beginning of the 20th century. Next to the main structure is a charming hermitage. The cabin is located in an area of natural beauty.

Beautiful historical complex included (I think it is the only one) within the Saja-Besaya natural park, a town that is essential to visit due to its beauty with typical mountain-style houses, very well restored and cared for. Bárcena Mayor has been a Historic-Artistic Site since 1979.
