Konik horses are small, strong wild horses often used for nature management in the Netherlands. They live in herds and, through their grazing behavior, help keep the landscape open and varied. In areas like the Oostvaardersplassen and the dunes, you can see them in their natural habitat, where they roam freely among other wild animals.

The birdwatching huts in Flevoland offer stunning views of one of the most important bird areas in the Netherlands. In this nature reserve, which includes the Oostvaardersplassen, Lepelaarplassen, and Marker Wadden, you can spot countless bird species, from spoonbills and cormorants to white-tailed eagles. The huts are positioned so you can observe birds up close without disturbing them. The atmosphere is particularly beautiful in the early morning or at sunset.

The route has indeed been completely rebuilt. Often the gravel/substrate is still very loose and therefore slippery. Nice new parts in the route too!

The route has recently been tackled and can now be driven all year round thanks to semi-hardening.

With a bit of luck you can spot the cattle, red deer or horses that roam the Oostvaardersplassen.

Here you can walk through an enormously varied nature reserve, with marshes, rough reeds and many animal species, such as foxes and deer.
