Typical Castilian town with an interesting old town. It has a wine cellar area as it belongs to the Cigales wine designation of origin. It has a very nice inn, two churches and a good gastronomic offer with two good restaurants. It is recommended to leave from Valoria to enter the Cerrato Palentino.

This small town sits on the side of a small mountain, El Castillo, and overlooks the plains below. The Church of Santa María la Mayor is located at the highest point of the town.

The original castle was built in the 10th century, but was replaced in the 15th century by the castle you see now. Admission costs €3 and it is open most of the year except Mondays and the months of January and February.

Masonry bridge erected in the 16th century and renovated at the end of the 19th century. The Puente Mayor crosses the Carrión River in Palencia, connecting the city center with the Allende El Río neighborhood. Originally made up of seven semicircular arches and prismatic cutwaters, it was later extended to allow road traffic. It currently has semi-cylindrical pillars and cutwaters with machicolation-shaped finishes, providing a fortified appearance.

Cycling along the Esgueva River, to the north of Villafuerte de Esgueva, you will reach the small town of Amusquillo. Great quiet road on the VA-140.

Built on a hill, the Castle of Villafuerte de Esgueva dominates the surrounding landscape. Built in 1472 by the Garci Franco family.
