Jaén Cathedral. A Renaissance building constructed between the 16th and 17th centuries. Designed by the architect Andrés de Vandelvira, it is one of the finest examples of Renaissance architecture in Spain.

In the province of Jaén, few memories remain of the machinery used on the railway, so this boiler from a steam locomotive used from the late 19th century until the mid-20th century to transport freight and passengers on this important railway line. This section of greenway, which was removed for political reasons, houses this reminder of what was once an important economic artery in the province of Jaén, known as the "Oil Route."

The Máquina de Vapor in Martos dates from the period 1862-1963 and is an important historical artifact. This steam engine was used for industrial purposes, possibly in the context of the local oil industry or other industrial activities in the region. It is a symbol of the technological progress and industrial history of Martos and the surrounding area.

The Catedral de la Asunción de Jaén, also known as the Cathedral of the Holy Resurrection of the Virgin, is an impressive Renaissance building in the centre of Jaén. It was built to replace a 15th-century Gothic church and is one of the city's most important architectural gems. The cathedral is located in the Plaza de Santa María, opposite the Town Hall and the Bishop's Palace. The interior is richly decorated with beautiful works of art, and the building houses the famous relics of the Holy Face. Note its imposing towers and elegant façade.

The patronage of this place of worship “Santa Maria Asunción” or “Nuestra Señora de La Asunción” (in German-speaking countries it is called “Assumption of Mary”) refers to one of the many memorial or feast days in honor of the Blessed Mother Mary in the church year. It goes back to the festival of her physical assumption into heaven, which the (Catholic) Church celebrates annually on August 15th. In the Orthodox churches the festival is celebrated under the name “Assumption of the Virgin Mary”. In rural areas, depending on the region, it is part of the local custom that bundles of herbs are collected by the population on this day and blessed in the festival service.

The Castle of Santa Catilina in Jaén is located on a promontory visible from many kilometers around. In that same place is located the National Tourist Parador of Jaén, which preserves all the aesthetics of the environment.

The Torredelcampo station is perhaps one of the best preserved old railway stations on the entire Vía Verde del Aceite.
