The Royal Sanctuary is the vestige of the passage through Traiguera of the orders of Montesa and the Hospitallers. In 2007 it was declared an Asset of Cultural Interest with the category of monument. It has its origin in the 14th century, the period of maximum splendor being in the 16th century. It is the only one with the category of Royal of the province, granted by Charles V in 1542, renewed by Felipe II and confirmed by the Papal Bull in 1555. The set of buildings that exist today correspond basically to the 16th century, with transformations of the Gothic temple in the 17th and 18th centuries. The temple is located in the center of the complex, to the right are the well and the Miracle fountain as well as the medieval kitchen. On these, around a patio and on two levels, the hostageria is developed. On the left are the old house "of the Priests" and the remains of an old and unfinished palace. Preceding the entrance to the temple is the Renaissance portico from 1588. The belfry is the most emblematic element of the medieval hermitage built in 1439.
