The Senda de las Gariñas is a circular path 6.5 km long. The route crosses part of the forest mass known as the Gariñas forest and reaches the Puentes Viejas reservoir, where we find the riverside landscape. The forest is made up mostly of resin pine, although as we approach the banks of the reservoir we also find ash trees and Montpellier maples.

On the banks of the Lozoya River at the beginning of the El Atazar reservoir we find this forest populated with pine, ash and Montpellier maple. Leafy, it creates a cozy natural intimacy that collects us in its bed as we pass through its paths.

A very well preserved dam, it is currently the oldest working dam in the entire region. The views down from the bridge across it or up the stairs from the top are amazing. It is very worth it. Just down the road is a lovely picnic spot with benches under the pine trees.

This reservoir is the oldest (still in operation) in the Community of Madrid. Construction began in 1869 and was completed in 1873, with a design that was innovative for its time. Later, a canal was created that brings water directly to the city of Madrid from this reservoir.

One of the most beautiful towns in the Community of Madrid. Located in a wonderful setting next to the Lozoya River, just reaching the bridge you can enjoy a beautiful postcard of the wall and its stone houses. The interior of the town is worth visiting and if you have time to spend a good time there, it is a very beautiful place.

The Villar reservoir is one of the oldest civil hydrographic works in Madrid that is still in operation. The dam stands in the middle of one of the Lozoya river gorges, which makes it an ideal viewpoint. From here you can see one of the impressive bridges that are used by the operators of the Canal de Isabel II to inspect all the infrastructure that supplies water to Madrid.

This dam offers spectacular views. It is worth going there. Ideal for hiking, motorbike or road bike excursions. Next to the dam there is a small parking lot for about 10 cars.
