Meters before reaching the Port or Portillo de la Sía, at 1,200 m. altitude, we find the Mirador, from where we have impressive views of the Soba Valley.

This is one of the best-known climbs in the province of Burgos, not only because it's always the star stage of the Vuelta a Burgos but also because it has appeared in key stages of the Vuelta a España, one of the three most important stage races in the world. A brutal eight-and-a-half-kilometer climb at an average gradient of over 9%.

Ramales has well-preserved architecture, with some Indian mansions with beautiful gardens and gates. The Revillagigedo palace (18th century) stands out. However, its most valuable heritage is the group of caves located at the beginning of the century by Alcalde del Río: Covalanas, La Haza, Cullalvera and Sotarriza house magnificent cave paintings inside.

Nice park next to the Asón river. It is the perfect place to relax and cool off in the summer after a long ride on the bike.

A small mountain pass in the easternmost sector of the Cordillera. At 1,316 meters above sea level, it is the third highest mountain pass in Cantabria. The port is closed very frequently in winter, especially in its Cantabrian part, being closed permanently for several months on many occasions.

The lookout is near the road. and from there there are very beautiful landscapes. You can see a huge waterfall that flows into the Asón river. The photos are small with reality. It really is a wonder to watch.

The Collado de Asón is an 11km section with a drop of 530m and an average gradient of 4.81%. The asphalt is perfect, with wooden fences on the curves, horizontal marking on the margins, etc. The traffic is light.
