The Isar Estuary Nature Reserve is one of Germany's most important floodplain landscapes. Where the Isar River flows into the Danube, an impressive natural landscape of alluvial forests, oxbow lakes, wet meadows, and gravel ponds stretches out. This dynamic river landscape provides habitat for numerous rare animal and plant species, including beavers, kingfishers, dragonflies, and amphibians.
