Selchow Castle, built in 1913 as a bourgeois summer residence for a prominent industrialist, is situated directly adjacent to the Gross-Schauener-Seenkette nature reserve. Now, the 1,200 m² villa with its 2-hectare park offers the comforts of a boutique hotel, including a 150 m² spa (sauna/cold plunge pool), cinema, bar, library, fireplace, and billiards.

The Storkow region is home to rare salt marshes, among the largest of their kind in Europe. You can discover this unique natural phenomenon on the Salt Trail. From the eight-meter-high observation tower in the Marschallwiesen, you'll have a sweeping view of the landscape – ideal for observing cranes and many other bird species in their natural habitat.

Of adaptation. And of the quiet dignity of one who does not complain, but grows. Everyone who stands before it suddenly falls silent. Perhaps because they sense: This pine has understood more about life than many a person with sturdy shoes.

If you visit Storkow (Mark) Castle, you'll find the Visitor Center (BIZ) of the Dahme-Heideseen Nature Park. In the exhibition, you can discover the natural and cultural history of the region on three levels – the tour begins with the Ice Age and continues to the present day. Historical illustrations and maps await you on the top floor, giving you an insight into the castle's origins. The event series "You and Your Garden in the Nature Park" is particularly exciting, where experienced instructors show you how to care for your garden, make medicinal herbal ointments, or learn more about the garden's animal inhabitants.
