Ruins of a 15th century watchtower that dominates the surrounding landscape between Écija and El Rubio. These structures were once scattered throughout Spain to warn locals of impending threats.

Historic stone bridge that crosses the Genil River and joins the route to Herrera.

The path takes a detour to reach the ruins of the Alhonoz Castle, a defensive structure that controlled the trade routes, the salt flats and the cereal fields of the Genil river basin.

Remnants of the rich history and heritage left by the Roman era in Herrara. The Roman thermal baths have been wonderfully preserved. This is a great place to start your adventure.

As a reference, the great brand of the famous Toro de Osborne winery indicates that we are approaching the town of Lora de Estepa.

Climb through the Estepa pine forest to reach this high point and the communication antennas peek out from among the trees. Great gravel trails around the forest and nearby quarries.

You'll be glad to have a bit of suspension on these cobbled streets as you climb the hill overlooking the city. You will reach the sites of the Santa Clara Convent and the impressive Alcázar Palace on the hill of San Cristóbal that dominated the city since Moorish times.
