The walk is easy with some challenging parts.

The Church of Santa Anna de Sella was built in several phases on the remains of the old mosque. In 1574, Patriarch Ribera separated the church and placed it under the protection of Santa Anna of Relleu. The current building dates from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, after the expulsion of the Moors. The bell tower was added in 1925, while the doors were donated in 1885 by Joan Thouus, the daughter of the Cacique of La Marina. To the left is the abbey house, which was first mentioned in 1574. Inside, destroyed during the Civil War, is the image of the divine Aurora, the patron saint of Sella.

A very beautiful, picturesque and touristically undeveloped mountain village in the Sierra de Aitana, which impresses with its traditional Spanish architecture, narrow streets and the surrounding mountain landscape. The first buildings in Sella were built around a Moorish castle. A settlement of Moriscos was formed, which was under the control of the Count of Cocentaina. Before the Moriscos were expelled in 1609 by King Philip III, the settlement had 115 houses. In the center of the village is the Santa Bárbara Castle and a historic, former mill. The narrow streets of the village on the mountainside and the charm of the city center are worth a visit. An experience - stays in your memory! On the way 🚴🏻‍♂️ to Puerto de Tudons you pass Sella. The bars on the road are also open early on Sunday. The perfect opportunity for a "little" rest! 👌 The region around Sella is very popular with cyclists and mountain bikers as it offers numerous routes and paths through the mountains. The proximity to the coast allows ambitious cyclists to combine the tranquility of the mountains with the beaches of the Costa Blanca on one tour.

You can climb over the rocks, a little bit further eastwards to the actual Penya de Sella or Alter de Nono, but there's no clear path anymore.

Sella is a town located in the heart of the Sierra de Aitana, in the interior of Alicante. For this reason it is a perfect enclave to see a meteor shower and enjoy the place where it is located. The origin of this town dates back to Arab times after the construction of a fortress, of which currently only its silhouette remains.

The Alt de Nono offers very nice views towards the valleys of the Marina Alta and with good visibility you can reach the beaches of the Costa Blanca!
