Beautiful village of La Alcarria. With spectacular Lavender Fields. Its Romanesque church has elements of this art. There are remains, a tower and a doorway of an ancient Jerónimo Monastery built in 1076 by Alfonso VI. Its Rollo or Pillory, its Plaza, its fountain and its wash house are also jewels that must be seen.

Beauty concentrated in the color purple.

Whenever you arrive at this Mirador or Balcony of La Peña Hueva, it is convenient to sit on one of its rocks, without danger of falling into the abyss, and admire the nearby landscape, Iriepal, Guadalajara, Pico del Águila, etc., and in the distance, Madrid, Long Rope, etc. Restful rest admiring the beauty of the landscape and the people who walk there.

On the outskirts of the town, near the cemetery, we find this small hermitage from the 17th century. A few meters from the hermitage are the ruins of an impressive mill.

The town of Romancos is the starting point for the beautiful trail La Vega and La Alcarria Romanqueña (PR-GU 10) in the shape of an 8. The trail runs around the outskirts of the town, passing through an area of varied vegetation. After the first section, the route continues through the Alcarria area, the highest and flattest part of the route. In the town we find an information panel about the route and its attractions, flora and fauna.
