One of the best-known names in Spain because this town is known for the set of prehistoric excavations that are unique in southern Europe.

The Alba Reservoir is located at the foot of the Sierra de la Demanda, where this swamp collects the water from the slopes of the mountains that fall to reach the Alba Reservoir.

Beautiful road that exists in this area of Valle de Oca and where in some of its curves, you can observe spectacular panoramic views.

Place where you can fill up with water whenever you need it and where, in addition, the town has impressive views of the Montes de Oca.

Before reaching the town of Tosantos we can find the valley that bears the name of the same river, Río Retorto. From this road you can see the formations created by the passage of water through the alluvial lands of this area.

It is a 4km climb on the BU-813 with an average gradient of 5.1%. As can be seen, the slope ranges between 4 and 6% without hard ramps (only one at 9%) and relatively constant with several horseshoe curves at the exit of the town but without excessive complication.

The Úzquiza dam, like the Arlanzón dam located less than 10 kilometers upstream, serves to regulate the Arlanzón river, and since both reservoirs form a functional unit between them, they share the important task of guaranteeing the supply of drinking water to the city of Burgos and other towns.
