🪨 The Old Swede erratic boulder in Kroge-Ehrendorf (Lohne, Vechta district) is an impressive geological monument with a fascinating history. It originated in Scandinavia and was transported to the region by glaciers during the Saale Ice Age (around 150,000 to 200,000 years ago). It is a massive boulder weighing approximately 30 tons.

Best connections to all major destinations The good relationship between the railway and the city of Diepholz was sealed as early as 1873 with the construction of the Bremen–Diepholz–Osnabrück railway line. The Diepholz train station was built, which at that time still consisted of a reception and post office building. Freight and locomotive sheds, a water station, a coal shed, and other outbuildings were also completed. In 1923, the connection to Nienburg via Sulingen was added. This reflects the city of Diepholz's long railway tradition. An Intercity train stops at Diepholz station several times a day, ensuring fast travel on the main line between Hamburg and the Ruhr region. Regional express trains run hourly to Osnabrück and Bremen, ensuring a safe return home even for late-night commuters.

This is (perhaps) the main town in Dümmer. Accordingly, it can be a bit crowded here.
