The Ermita de San Blas in Sax is a small, historic chapel located in the heart of the old town, directly below the castle. It was probably built in the 13th or 14th century and is one of the typical "Ermitas de Reconquista" (reconquest hermitages) built after the Christian reconquest. The building has a simple rectangular floor plan with a later addition of a semicircular chancel and a baroque bell tower above the entrance. The statue of Saint Blas, the patron saint of the town, is venerated inside. The chapel continues to play a central role in the religious and cultural life of Sax. Of particular importance is the annual "Cabildo de San Blas" on December 26th, a traditional gathering that marks the beginning of the patron saint's festivities. In addition, masses are regularly held in honor of the saint. With its historic architecture and picturesque location below the castle, the Ermita de San Blas is an important symbol of Sax's identity and a worthwhile destination for visitors interested in culture.

Generally on weekends there are roads very busy with cars, motorcycles and cyclists, if it is summer make sure to bring water, in August there are good places. If you go up from August you can go down the service road, or go towards Tibi, Castalla and lengthen and go up =)

Perfect warm-up climb near Alicante, for a short 50 or 60 km ride starting in the city centre, or at the start of a longer ride higher up the mountains.

The chapel is beautiful, but the view you can enjoy from here is even better. It's worth the effort, the view from "above" is amazing.

The castle of Muslim origin has almost completely disappeared and next to the rest of its walls is the reformed hermitage of San Pedro. Both are located at the top of the hill, obtaining the best views of the mountains and Agost.

Very quiet and picturesque stretch of road with very nice views of the Sierre de Cofer. The slope is very gentle and the surface is quite rough in some sections, be especially careful if you take it downhill.

It is a quiet section of the road that borders the Maigmó. Without crossing the A7, the road goes up to Maigmó. Here is the famous balcony of Alicante. The views are spectacular. If you cross the A7, you can head towards the port of Tibi. There are about 2 kilometers of ascent with interesting slopes.
