A cross erected in 1927 characterizes it, however the summit is a little higher, hidden by trees and without views, which is why the most popular objective for the mountaineer is found on this cross.

Summit of the Aralar massif which encloses the mountain range at its northern end and lies last on the imposing ridge line called Malloak (a term used by the locals to refer to them, roughly translating to 'ragged ridge') that looms over the valley of Araitz.

Urreako Haitza, the golden peak in Basque, is a 748 meter high peak. It is worth deviating slightly from the GR 121 to enjoy the spectacular views from above.

After a beech forest and a track that crosses a fern, you reach this beautiful peak with a vertex and two mailboxes.
