The Judes Lagoon is a karst wetland located in the town of Judes, within the municipality of Arcos de Jalón, in the province of Soria, Castile and León. It is the only lagoon of its kind in the province, as most are of glacial origin.

It is a beautiful, monumental town, with two churches, San Pedro and Santa María de La Lastra, a Muslim Tower, the Caves of El Cid, a large Plaza Mayor, houses of red sand, and very welcoming people. It is bathed by the Tajuña River, which flows strongly through the town, producing rapids and waterfalls.

Extraordinary town, on the banks of the Tajuña River, full of history. From its Celtiberian Castros through its Roman Camps, to its Cuevas del Cid and its Muslim towers. Nearby is one of the most characteristic Dolmens of the plateau, the Portillo del Cortes Dolmen. There were also menhirs although with the concentration of land they disappeared. Its churches are also of extraordinary value. Its very welcoming people.

Nice town in the south of the province of Soria. Located between Medinaceli and Maranchón, it has an extraordinary Fountain next to the old laundry and the beautiful Blanco River, once full of crabs.

Sagides is a beautiful town in the south of the province of Soria, it is located between Layna to the West and Judes and Chaorna to the East. The south faces Maranchón in Castilla La Mancha. Sagides has a benign microclimate that allows it to obtain a large amount of garden products, with the help of the water from its Arroyo Madre or Sagides. Its landscape, quite populated with junipers, is spectacularly beautiful.

Urex de Medinaceli is a small town next to the Blanco River. Visit the Church of San Bernabé Apóstol near the Plaza Mayor in the center of town. There is a nice church to visit. The impressive viaduct of the high train is visible to the north of the city.

Located on the Camino del Cid, hiking route GR160, Layna is a small and interesting rural town to make a stop in the Arcos de Jalón region. You can park your car in the city center and start exploring from there.

A beautiful town on top of a hill with the tower of its parish church announcing its center dominating the architectural landscape. There is a small parking space near the church from where you can start your adventure. Be sure to look for the palace of the Marqués de Alcocébar, admire it from the outside as it is currently private property.

Judes Lagoon is a lagoon formed by the subsidence of limestone (karst) terrain. It usually has water at the end of winter and in spring. In wet years, it overflows, and the excess water flows down to the Almuguera de Chaorna stream, forming beautiful waterfalls called Chorroneras, very close to the town.
