Salobral is a district of Albacete, located towards the south, more or less 15-20 minutes by car from Albacete. The castle was built in the 13th century on a hill overlooking the town and the surrounding plain. It was an important fortress during the Middle Ages, due to its strategic location on the border between the kingdoms of Castile and Aragon. During the War of Independence, the castle was the scene of several clashes between French and Spanish troops.

The track next to the canal is ideal for a leisurely ride while you recharge your batteries. In addition, you can find numerous very entertaining paths in the surrounding hills.
