The climb to the Santuari de Monti-Sion is worthwhile. The place exudes a sense of tranquility, even though it hasn't been used for religious purposes for some time. And you have fantastic views of Porterres and the entire southeast coast.

The Santuari de Monti-Sión is located on the Puig de Monti-Sión. Founded in 1348, the Santuari de Monti-Sión is located approximately 248 meters above sea level on the Monti-Sión hill in the south-east of the Mediterranean island of Mallorca, near the town of Porreres. The origins of the Santuari de Monti-Sión with an attached boys' school can be traced back to the year 1348 and in turn go back to an oratory with an attached hermitage. The oratory dedicated to the Virgin Mary was replaced in 1498 by a church that was completely renovated or rebuilt in 1711. A school was founded here by Jesuits in 1551, which also provided preparatory training for students for the study of theology.
