The castle of Almodóvar del Río was used for the filming of the series Game of Thrones. It served as the setting for Highgarden, the seat of House Tyrell. In October 2024, the castle hosted the seventh edition of the Age of Empires tournament sponsored by Red Bull under the name "Red Bull Wololo El Reinado".

The Breña Reservoir —located between Posadas, Almodóvar del Río and Santa María de Trassierra— is a huge pool of blue waters that gives life to the Sierra de Hornachuelos Natural Park. It has a beach, several beach bars and recreational areas for water sports.

It is a watchtower tower built in the 15th century with the aim of dealing with possible Muslim attacks. It is part of the set of fortifications located on the defensive line of the road between Córdoba and Seville. There is currently a project to enhance the value that will allow the tower to be visited from the inside.

The castle of Almodóvar del Río, also called Castillo de la Floresta, located on the mount called "El Redondo", is an Andalusian fortress located in the town of Almodóvar del Río, province of Córdoba. Previously it was a Roman fort and the current building definitely has Berber origin, from the year 760.

The current Guadacabrilla or Cabrilla tower was ordered to be built in the s. XV by the second mayor of Córdoba, Dr. Luís Sánchez, in the times of Enrique III (possibly between 1403 and 1406) "to guard the road to Seville" and the Guadalquivir ford. This tower occupies a dominant position and was built taking advantage of the remains of a previous one that already existed in 1267, which with the name of Atalayuela was designated as a landmark located between the road from Córdoba to Seville and the Guadalquivir river. In 1985 it was declared an Asset of Cultural Interest, the maximum protection granted to the monument by the Spanish Historical Heritage Law.
