Coming from Sóller you have a great view of the reservoir, which nowadays only has very little water. However, it is incredibly crowded, especially during holidays or weekends.

If you want to climb the three peaks Sa Rateta, Na Franquesa and Piug L'Ofre, it is recommended to start with the Puig de Sa Rateta from the north-east. The path is marked by red dots or "cairns" or stone towers. The descent towards Coll des Gats between the peaks Puig de Sa Rateta and Puig de Na Franquesa is quite steep and there are sometimes no signposts. The path is more pleasant as a descent than as an ascent. Afterwards, the meadow at Coll des Gats invites you to take a rest!

Beautiful view on the mountains of Tossals Verds and the Puig Major (highest mountain Mallorca). It is not allowed to swim in the lake. The GR221 passes near the lake + there is a refugio where you can spend the night!

Idyllic, beautifully situated mountain lake (or reservoir) in the middle of the mountains of Mallorca. There are always great views of the lake, framed by beautiful mountain views. Mallorca's long-distance hiking trail GR 221 runs along here. The lake can also be walked around on a circular route.

The area around the Cúber is a fenced nature reserve. You can park your car right at the beginning of the reservoir. There is another parking lot 200 meters up the road. Sheep, cows and donkeys live near the water and Mallorca's wild goats crawl on the mountain slopes. The view over the lake and the walls of the Tramuntana giants is uniquely beautiful.

Puig Major is the highest peak in Mallorca. It stands out from the rest of the mountains in the Sierra de Tramuntana because it is the only one that has antennas and a radar at the top. This mountain is military property, so it can only be accessed with a special permit. In any case, it can be perfectly appreciated from the Cúber reservoir and the surrounding peaks. The views are gorgeous!
