It has around 200 houses, clean streets and a medium-sized square. The parish church is dedicated to Our Lady of the Assumption. Despite its ruggedness, the district of Cuevas de Velasco has a good plain, fertilized by the Mayor River, which powers a flour mill.

This part of the path allows us to observe the 360° panoramic views of the plains occupied by olive groves and dry cereals. Remember that these are areas of sensitive gypsum-crusted soils with protected species and it is forbidden to leave the path.

To get closer to the Sierra Gorda de Portalrubio, in 2021 the PR-CU 121 trail was inaugurated that passes through the Cueva de los Moros. The access was conditioned and signposted to be able to visit this cave.
