A nice alternative for the Camino del Norte. I don't understand why the camino doesn't go past here, but along the busy main road.

From this point you can see a large part of the coast of El Franco and Tapia de Casariego. In front of the Punta, an elongated stone emerges to the north, known as El Corveiro, where good quality barnacles grow. To the west you can see As Charliqueiras and to the east you can see the tip of Cabo Blanco.

From the narrow road you can see the mouth of the Porcía River and the beach that overlooks the sea. It is impressive how each small strip of asphalt on the Cantabrian coast leads to dream places.

Porcía is a beach of pebbles and sand, triangular in shape, shared by El Franco and Tapia de Casariego. The river of the same name flows into it, which serves as a natural limit for both councils. It stands out for its river meanders and the Boy islets.

I followed the signs to get to Porcía Beach, and parked in the high area. I walked to the beach and the views are very pretty. I went back up the same place and passed Las Atalayas and wanted to get to Cabo Blanco, but it was late and it was very windy. I did not finish the route, but I advise it

View to the mouth of the river. There's also a nice beach down there that may be worth the detour
