The O Caminho de Inverno Hostel in A Rúa de Valdeorras (Ourense) is a public hostel exclusively for pilgrims of the Winter Way, inaugurated in March 2024.

The Church of Our Lady of Fatima in Fontei, located in the municipality of A Rúa, Valdeorras, Ourense, is a modern temple built between the 19th and 20th centuries. This church stands out for its two slate-covered towers and its neo-Gothic style. Every year, in May, a festival is held in honor of the Virgin of Fatima. It is said that the famous Catalan architect Antonio Gaudí may have influenced its design, although there are no documents to confirm this. ⛪

In O Bañadoiro in Vilamartín de Valdeorras we can find this metal suspension bridge that crosses the Sil and allows us, in addition to capturing beautiful snapshots of the area, to cross from one bank to the other and take hiking routes.

Churches unfortunately mostly closed

In the surroundings of Peña Trevinca there are several lagoons of glacial origin. This is the case of the Ocelo, Carrizais and Laceira lagoons. They are the Trevinca lagoons, which we will visit on this easy circular hiking route through the municipality of A Veiga. We are in the highest lands of Galicia, in the Montes de Trevinca, located to the east of the province of Ourense.
