This extraordinary cove, located in the municipality of Sant Lluís in Menorca, surrounded by white houses and traditional piers, exudes a special charm thanks to the family atmosphere that permeates it and its calm waters, protected by rocky outcroppings and islets. This small-sized beach with crystal clear water is characterized by a slope of fine white sand, exposure to waves and southeasterly winds, a gentle slope, a sand and algae bottom, shallow depth, as well as a low influx of local bathers and tourists. . Despite the fact that today Alcaufar is mainly a summer resort for many families from Mahón and Sant Lluís, it was here that the first tourist hotel on the island of Menorca was built.

Cala Mesquida is part of the municipality of Capdepera and is located in the middle of a nature reserve. The dunes surrounding Cala Mesquida extend to Cala Agulla, providing a habitat for the largest population of cormorants and seagulls in the Balearic Islands. In 1991 the area around Cala Mesquida and Cala Agulla was declared a Nature Reserve. Until the conquest of Jaime I of Aragon, the area was largely uninhabited, only the Miguel Nunis tower served as a viewpoint from which maritime traffic could be observed.

The art nouveau house can be reached directly from the harbor via the large, white staircase. It is best lit in the morning sun.
