The trail that runs along the Asturian coast is full of wonders and contrasts. In a single stretch, you can cross a forest, descend to a beach, gaze at the Cantabrian Sea from the top of a cliff, or reach the Picos de Europa inland.

It is a route where, let's say the first part runs very close to the coast, to later reach La Griega Beach and be able to see the dinosaur footprints and have a drink or eat in the very good Vista Alegre restaurant on La Griega beach itself. Then the walk begins sometimes along a local road and other sections along a path until the end again at La Isla beach.

Nice beach but wild and with rocks. Next to it passes the coastal path called Camino Real, included in the Camino de Santiago. It has a couple of wooden tables in the meadow to eat.

An interesting vestige of the Civil War, some old trenches dug on the coast by the Republican side, which were never used.

Nice and wide beach with beach bars and a green area. It is well known for the beautiful island, El Peñón.

Beautiful hike on the Camino del Norte. The paths are each marked with yellow arrows or on the ground with the typical Camino shell. There are various hostels for pilgrims or possibly hotels. I chose Hotel. Overnight in Villaviciosa at Hotel Casa Espana. Hotel recommended, right on the Way of St. James. Villaviciosa is a very nice town with everything you need.
