The ascent of Pico Pienzu can be one of the most rewarding routes you'll find in the Asturian mountains. The contrast between sea and mountains at its summit will leave you speechless, and any route you choose for the climb will offer a fantastic day in the mountains.

Hiking area through the Sierra de Fitu. The Whip Hills are home to local herds of wild horses and cows. The views of the peaks are incredible on a clear day. This hike is at elevation and the weather could be very different from the valleys below, so be prepared.

The start of the walk begins at the parking lot. One of the first stops may be the Fitu viewpoint. Panoramic view of the peaks that you can follow along this trail, towards the high elevations of Pico Pienzu.

In the Sueve there are two reference peaks: Pienzu, the highest, most famous and most traveled, and Miruenu, an almost twin peak, much less accessible, and logically almost deserted, but in my opinion much more beautiful and with the same or better views than from the Pienzu. Nice beach but wild and with rocks. Next to it passes the coastal path called Camino Real, included in the Camino de Santiago. It has a couple of wooden tables in the meadow to eat.
