XII century castle built by the Mariño de Lobeira family and later by the Moscoso family, one of the most influential in the province. In 1973, sold to the Diputación de A Coruña, the necessary rehabilitation works were undertaken on the castle to dedicate it to public use, and it is currently managed by the Vimianzo Council with free access.
