The waters of the Arga river were retained by means of a damming in 1973, to supply water to the population of Pamplona and its region. The landscape of the town of Eugi changed forever, since the forestry house, the oven, the bakery and the mill of the town were left under the waters of the swamp.

Long mountain pass that links the Baztán and Arga valleys. The road is not very wide, although it is perfectly paved and does not usually have much traffic. From the Irurita slope it has a length of 15 kilometers in which almost a thousand meters of unevenness are overcome. It has become well known as it is traditionally included in the cycling tour that is held every year in honor of the Navarrese cyclist Miguel Indurain. The Irurita slope alternates very hard sections with other more bearable ones, with slopes of up to 12%. From the Eugi side, the pass is barely six kilometers long, very bearable, except for the last two, with an average percentage of between 8.2 and 9.4%.

Highway port at 984 masl, very popular in the area since you can get here both by road and by paths, either by mtb or on foot. A very quiet place with very beautiful panoramic views.

Small and picturesque town on the banks of the Ultzama river with good accessibility from Pamplona and that makes it a good alternative to start your route through the area and avoid the intense traffic of Pamplona.

Very popular road port among cyclists in the area, with a good climb coming from Pamplona up to 847 meters above sea level.
