Very nice walk

The itinerary of the route of the ancient oaks is a forest path that enters a forest of oaks of enormous size with surprising shapes and many of them with an age of hundreds and thousands of years. Along the short but picturesque route there are identification signs of tree species and shrubs.

This picturesque path will take you through ancient beech forests visiting several dolmens that give the name to the route. A path to walk with the whole family and enjoy at any time of the year.

One of the dolmens that are on the path, surrounded by a wonderful beech forest that offers a unique landscape that varies depending on the time of year you visit. In the autumn months you will have intense contrasts worthy of postcards.

A beautiful and picturesque landscape offered by this beech forest that has ancient specimens. The landscape in autumn is simply wonderful for its intense and varied colors.

The top of Lizarrusti has a large parking area, with a fountain, children's playground, tables with benches, many information panels about Aralar, the park, the megaliths, short and long routes... There is also the Aralar parketxe with more information and a restaurant with bar and hostel.

This mountain pass is located right on the border between the Basque Country and Navarra. From here you can make many excursions to the Aralar Natural Park.

Pleasant loop in the Basque reliefs although with a little too many wide paths (4x4) for my taste.
