The highest pass on Mallorca: the tunnel of the Serra de son Torrella. Unfortunately, the summit of the Puig Major is a military restricted area. Therefore, you cannot drive up to the summit. The road is in excellent condition and is great fun both uphill and downhill. A detour via Fornalutx, a very original Mallorcan mountain village, is even more beautiful.

Longest climb around, but worth the effort

Very nice climb from Bunyola. The road surface has now (2024) been repaired in several places. However, caution is still required on the descent from the top of the pass to the town of Orient, as there are still many potholes, especially before the town entrance. After that, the surface is good and the descent to Alaro is nice. Avoid at weekends when the weather is nice, as the locals drive here in droves with their cars to picnic.

From both sides a great ascent as well as descent. The road is very nicely maintained, there are many hairpin bends and the road is mostly empty (especially in early spring). At the top, you can always linger in the small restaurant.

Great climb and descent from both sides but it's especially narrow when descending towards the Andratx side so it's worth taking care on the many blind corners. The surface of this climb isn't as good as many Mallorca's roads either, having said that it's absolutely beautiful! Personally I prefer to ride this climb from Es Capdella towards Puigpynyent.

Orient is a small town in a high valley of the Tramuntana mountain range. There are places to stop for refreshments up here. The trip up to Orient and downhill is fantastically beautiful. Unfortunately, the asphalt from the Coll d'Honor down to Orient is still in bad condition. The section should be driven carefully. Otherwise great route.

Beautiful, narrow pass road over Galilea. Few cars, great serpentines and curves, always new impressions. Up in Galilea it is worth stopping at a cafe with a view all the way to the coast.

The longest climb in Mallorca leads you evenly to the highest point of the island (for cyclists). Enjoying the view before the tunnel and at the lake (Embassament de Cúber) is worth it! Lights in the tunnel are recommended, especially in high season.

Wonderful climb with much less traffic than, for example, the coastal road. On some days you are apparently alone without any cars - only now and then other cyclists that you overtake yourself or that overtake you :-)

Access to and from Capdella with max. 7% are always worthwhile. The road is low traffic and the views of the sea are fantastic. The restaurant at the church I particularly like, there are delicious and inexpensive local food.

It's quite methodical with numerous similar hairpin bends up and down. Nice views from the top and on way up. Not as long as I imagined it to be. Only way back to Port de Soller, so it's kind of inevitable you'll have to do it if you stay there!!

Nice biting climb from Bunyola towards Alaro. However, the asphalt is poor, so I recommend choosing the direction from Bunyola to Orient for the climb. The descent from Orient to Alaro is then much easier and safer!

Since 99% of motorists use the tunnel to Soller, you can ride the hairpin bends high and downhill to Soller very well. Spectacular views and views from the Coll de Soller to the sea.
