Just as you’re about to pull into Potes there’s a great little platform that looks over the town and the mountain range behind it. They’ve installed a mount for phones so you can easily nab a selfie! Potes in general has a few of these mounts around for great photos — keep an eye out!

On a hill, 3 km outside Potes, in the direction of Fuente Dé, there is a church with a monastery: Monasterio Santo Toribio. This is the oldest monastery in Spain.

One of the most beautiful towns in Cantabria, with the Torre del Infantado, the narrow alleys, the river through the city, with the Museo de la Sidra and of course as a gateway to the Picos.

With the gravel bike and/or luggage go slowly. Take your time to walk your bike on the steepest sections (15% +), views are amazing. Because of the loose rocks your wheel will slip sometimes.
